Since 1990, Fort Boyard has put several personalities to the test through sport and logic tests. In more than 30 years, the show has welcomed many characters, each more significant than the next. These include La Boule, Passe-Muraille and Passe-Partout. But if there is one who has remained in the memories of young and old alike, it is Father Fouras.

It is the “centenary guardian of the keys of the fort. We do not know how old he really is. The legend says that he would have participated in the construction of the fort, and that he took up residence there”, specifies the website. Fort Boyard. Now Master of the fort, Father Fouras continues to torment the candidates with ever more complex tests and puzzles.

If his face and his hair suggest that this man would be a hundred years old, it is actually a very different personality that hides behind the mask. This is Yann Le Gac, a 68-year-old actor from Morbihan and a former classical dancer recognized throughout the world.

In Fort Boyard, Yann Le Gac is not content to lend his features to his character, he also hides behind the trials. And this role is also incumbent on him for a completely different program, Koh-Lanta, hosted by Denis Brogniart. The pole test, the orienteering race… All of this comes from his imagination.

Over the years, his role as Father Fouras has become cult and many viewers try every week to solve his puzzles, each more difficult than the next.
