It is the duo that thwarts the predictions of Beijing Express. Since February 16, Nathalie and Angie have been the unknown duo in season 17 of the game hosted by Stéphane Rotenberg on M6. An exceptional adventure for these two women who are opposites.
The first, a manager working near Saint-Nazaire, is used to luxury and comfort. While the second, a former soldier who became a bus driver, lives in the Paris region where she is raising her four-year-old daughter. If the pairs of strangers have not always worked miracles on Beijing Express, we can say that Nathalie and Angie finally found each other well.
What is the secret of such osmosis between the two candidates? “I think we both played smart,” Nathalie admitted to Planet. “When we don’t know each other, we’re not going to get on our high horse either, to want to impose ourselves”. For the fifty-year-old dynamic, their pair is linked by “a great force”.
“We both came for the same thing: adventure. We didn’t come to win Beijing Express, even if obviously we wouldn’t have spat on it,” admits this adventurer. Over the course of the episodes, between Bolivia and Paraguay, Nathalie and Angie surpass themselves, stand up to leaders like the sisters Alexandra and Laura or the surprise pair Clément and Émeline. And, they also escaped elimination by winning the final duel twice (a third saved in a non-elimination duel).
“We had been warned that as a pair of unknowns, it was going to be complicated. We were going to “drool more than the others”. And, each time we took a step, we were happy”, breath- she said with relief. When luck did not smile on them, Nathalie knew how to deal with the mood of her friend with a strong temperament. “Angie is someone who tends not to externalize things too much. Looking at her, I immediately understood when things were wrong and that I had to leave her alone”, confides this eternal optimistic.
Since the Beijing Express adventure, has Nathalie stayed in touch with her partner Angie? “A lot of things differentiate us. That said, I am very faithful in friendship”, confides the candidate who also has news of the other pairs on their WhatsApp group. On social networks, the two women seem to have remained close and should soon meet again.
“We have very cordial relations and I invited her for this summer to come on vacation with her granddaughter”, slips us the candidate. While waiting to find out if the two strangers (who have become friends) will get their ticket to Brazil next Thursday, Nathalie chooses to conclude with special attention for her partner. “I thank Angie for sharing this with me and that everything went well.”
