The heat wave of July 18 will not have spared any region of France. When it’s this hot, you can also count on mosquitoes to come, even more, to spoil the summer.

Fortunately, there are solutions to keep them away, or even get rid of them. But beware: if you recently bought a bug trap from a supermarket or DIY store, it could be the subject of a large-scale recall procedure today.

On July 18, the RappelConso site informed that two Acto brand products are currently being recalled from stores. They pose a risk of electric shock to users, and are therefore dangerous.

Here is the information to identify the affected products:

Lampe LED U.V 7 Grill’Insectes

Lampe LED U.V 57 Grill’Insectes

Discover in our slideshow the 14 supermarket chains and DIY stores that marketed these suspicious batches across the whole of France.

If you have one of the offending products, go to the store: you have until October 15, 2022 to receive a refund.

For more information, do not hesitate to contact the contact number for the procedure: 01 34 02 46 65.

To hunt mosquitoes and insects of all kinds, the alternatives offered by traders are numerous and increasingly sophisticated over the years. However, are they all effective?

Among these traps for invertebrates, we find UV LED lamps, which promise to attract insects before “grilling” them. This type of product enjoys a certain popularity among consumers.

But a 1997 study, relayed by consoglobe.com, claimed that out of 10,000 insects captured by the trap, only 8 were mosquitoes. Today, it is estimated that these lamps are, moreover, ineffective against the tiger mosquito.
