Mother and son have comedy in their blood. Since 2015, actress Gwendoline Hamon has played Commissioner Florence Cassandre, the title role of the detective series on France 3. While a new episode is being broadcast this Friday, April 14, the public will soon find another member of the on-screen actress.

This is his son Gabriel, born September 10, 2004, from his relationship with actor Frédéric Diefenthal. With two parents steeped in comedy, the great-grandson of playwright Jean Anouilh was truly born into a family of artists. However, nothing predestined him to make a career in the spotlight. “He never wanted to be an actor but dogs don’t make cats,” assured his mother Gwendoline Hamon, guest on the Buzz TV show for Le Figaro.

During his childhood, young Gabriel was not really attracted to the stage. “He is interested without being a fan. What inflates him above all is that I am so often forced to go to the provinces. He hates it”, confessed the actress to Paris Match in 2019, before mentioning their relationship. “We are fusional and I overprotect him a little too much. I am a mother wolf who will have to relax”.

The son of Gwendoline Hamon finally chose to follow in his footsteps. At the beginning of 2022, he was already making an appearance in an episode of Cassandra. Last November, he was on the set of the unpublished component (to be discovered on April 21) in his first major role. “I play the son of the victim. It’s a complicated role, never neutral”, he confided for Télé 7 Jours. “This is my first real experience in front of the camera. It’s reassuring to have my mother by my side”, admits the one who passed the casting in secret from the actress.

Something to make the first woman in her life proud, moved in the face of our colleagues. “I was stressed. The first day, when I saw him on the combo (control monitor, editor’s note), I hid so as not to cry. It made me feel weird. But I must admit that he plays very fair.” At the same time, his son is also passionate about music and rap.

This is only the beginning for Gabriel Diefenthal since he is currently filming for an unpublished unit, Superpapa, with Jenifer and Michaël Youn for TF1. Before finding it on the screen, Gwendoline Hamon and Gabriel Diefenthal reveal a few rare photos together on social networks. Family portrait in pictures in our slideshow.
