(Paris) The Tunisian Ons Jabeur took 5th place in the world at the expense of the French Caroline Garcia in the WTA ranking published on Monday and still dominated by the Polish Iga Swiatek ahead of the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka.
Garcia is under pressure as she has big points to defend until the end of the season, following her US Open semi-final and Masters triumph last year.
The only other change in the top 20 sees Czech Karolina Muchova reclaim 17th position from Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova.
Titled Sunday in Lausanne, the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto gains 12 places and obtains the best ranking of her career at 30th in the world.
This is also the case of the Russian Diana Shnaider, eliminated in the semi-finals in Hamburg. The 19-year-old moved up 15 places and entered the top 100, in 86th position.
