(Indianapolis) Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson will miss at least four weeks of activity after the Indianapolis Colts placed his name on the injured list on Wednesday.

The former University of Florida star injured his right shoulder joint after being knocked to the ground following a four-yard run in Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans. .

Veteran Gardner Minshew will replace him as starting quarterback.

Minshew has appeared in four games this season, and he replaced Richardson three times due to various injuries. He led the Colts (3-2) to victory on two occasions as well as in his only start, in overtime against the Baltimore Ravens.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen did not specify a timeline for Richardson’s return to play. He also did not confirm that Richardson will be back in his position this season.

Richardson, a six-foot-four, 244-pound colossus, was selected by the Colts fourth overall in the last NFL draft in April. He has made four starts so far this season, but has only completed one game.

The Colts will cross swords with the Jaguars in Jacksonville this weekend, in a duel between comeneurs of the Southern section of the American Association.
