(Toronto) Luguentz Dort of the Thunder has been named to Canada’s training camp roster for the FIBA World Cup later this summer.
The Montrealer will also find his teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray (Nuggets) and RJ Barrett (Knicks), among others.
The team also includes Gilgeous-Alexander’s cousin, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, of the Timberwolves.
Other NBA players in the squad are Kelly Olynyk (Jazz), Cory Joseph (Warriors), Oshae Brissett (Celtics), Dillon Brooks (Rockets) and Dwight Powell (Mavericks).
The other national team members are Kyle Alexander, Zach Edey, Trae Bell-Hynes, Melvin Ejim, Kevin Pangos, Kelvim Robertson, Phil Scrubb and Thomas Scrubb.
The training camp will take place from August 1 to 6 in Toronto at the OVO Centre. This is the Raptors complex.
Exhibition matches will be shown in Germany and Spain from August 9-18.
The World Cup is scheduled for August 25 to September 10.
The group stage will take place in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. The elimination rounds will be held in Manila, Philippines.
Ranked 15th in the world, Canada is in Group H. The country will face France, Lebanon and Latvia in the group stage in Jakarta, Indonesia.
