Two musicians from Quebec are among the 10 finalists, Montreal DJ Gayance, with her album Mascarade, and electronic artist Debbie Friday, thanks to Good Luck. Born in Nigeria, Debbie Friday grew up in Montreal, while Gayance, whose real name is Aïsha Vertus, is from Haiti and grew up in Montreal North.
