This Thursday, July 6, 2023, actress Eva Green celebrates her 43rd birthday. The one who began her career in the theater became known to the general public in 2005 in the feature film Kingdom of Heaven alongside Orlando Bloom. On the strength of this experience, she was offered several Hollywood blockbusters including Casino Royale and At the Crossroads of the Worlds: The Golden Compass. She even became the muse of director Tim Burton who had her play in three of his films: Dark Shadows , Dumbo and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

As for the director’s fascination for himself, Eva Green explained in Première: “I have no idea what a Burtonian actress might look like. Well, yes. From there to find that I correspond to this image … The eyes, maybe,” she explained and continued, “Tim often worked with actresses with big eyes that looked like his early drawings. But otherwise, he doesn’t really fit the target audience for the movies I star in. I even forbade him from watching Penny Dreadful.”

A passion for cinema that is a family affair. Indeed, Eva Green is the daughter of the French actress Marlène Jobert, star of the big screen in the 1970s, thanks in particular to the films The Passenger in the Rain and Last Known Home.

Very close to her mother, the actress said she admired her, as Premiere reported: “When I watch my mother on screen, I find myself ridiculous in comparison. She is everything I would like to be. She is so full of charm and sensitivity… I try to be as much like her as possible.”
