(Cleveland) The penalties fell following a fight involving Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox and Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday night.

MLB suspended Anderson for six games, while Ramirez will have to miss three games. The two players, who appealed the sanction, also received fines for undisclosed amounts.

Guardians manager Terry Francona, No. 1 reliever Emmanuel Clase and third coach Mike Sarbaugh received one-game suspensions, as did White Sox manager Pedro Grifol.

White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech and Guardians rookie Gabriel Arias were also fined.

Francona and Clase decided to serve their suspensions on Monday as the Guardians begin a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Grifol will do the same against the New York Yankees. Sarbaugh plans to serve his on Tuesday.

Anderson and Ramirez exchanged several blows near second base in the sixth inning. The Guardians third baseman hit the White Sox shortstop with a solid right to knock him down. A scrum involving players and coaches from both clubs ensued. More than 15 minutes were needed to restore calm and continue the meeting.
