Joël Teasdale will spend the next season with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League. The former Laval Rocket has signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Wild school club.
Although he has only played two games with the Montreal Canadiens, the forward has had an NHL contract in his pocket for the past five years. This is also the type of agreement he was looking for this summer, he confided to La Presse a few weeks ago. However, he had to come up with a plan B.
The 24-year-old Quebecer has spent the last three campaigns with the Rocket. He notably scored 23 goals in 58 games last season. The Canadiens did not submit a qualifying offer to him, so he became an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
