(New York) Canadian Vasek Pospisil was eliminated in the second round of qualifying for the US Open, the last major tournament of the season.

Pospisil lost 6-3, 4-6, 2-6 to Zachary Svajda, in a game originally scheduled to be played on Thursday but was postponed several times due to rain on Friday.

The Canadian beat Pedro Martinez 7-6 (7), 6-7 (3), 6-4 on Wednesday in the first round of qualifying.

On Friday, Pospisil had nine aces, while his opponent had three. Pospisil, however, committed six double faults, 14 unforced errors and won only 10 service games.
