(Santiago Chile) Maggie Mac Neil won her fourth gold medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, on Tuesday, helping Canada continue its medal haul in the pool.

MacNeil finished her games by winning the 50-meter freestyle, tying with American Gabi Albiero, in 24.84 seconds.

“I’m happy to get the tie win. It’s still new to freestyle internationally for me, said Mac Neil. The good thing is that this is obviously one of my weaker events – I miss the extra length. So I’m really happy [with the result]. »

This victory gave Mac Neil his sixth medal (four gold, one silver and one bronze) in seven events.

The four gold charms tie a record for a Canadian swimmer at the Pan American Games, set by Jessica Deglau in 1999.

In gymnastics, Quebecer Félix Dolci was decorated with gold on floor. Zachary Clay won the pommel horse event and Jayson Rampersad took second place on the podium.

Dolci thus won his second gold medal of the Games and third overall. On Monday, he became the first Canadian gymnast to win the all-around at the Pan American Games in 60 years.
