When the weather is nice and warm, we only want to go and perfect our tan in the sun, whether we are on vacation by the sea, or simply at home.

At home, the most rigorous and naturism enthusiasts do not hesitate to remove everything to tan evenly.

But beware, in terms of home tanning, there are a few rules if you don’t want to get sued.

If we know that naturism is only allowed on certain beaches in France, we can think that, in the privacy of our garden or on our balcony, there are no restrictions on what we can, or not, find out.

However, these places are outside, and they are therefore subject to the public gaze. A few limits must therefore be respected.

French law, specifies the magazine Challenges, authorizes naked tanning on a balcony, a terrace, a garden or a swimming pool, only in the event that you are not visible:

If you are seen in your simplest device, then you are in violation, and can be prosecuted if someone feels offended.

“Sexual exhibition imposed on the view of others in a place accessible to the public gaze is punishable by one year’s imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros”, specifies legifrance.

If you are surprised by minors, the situation can be all the more serious. It can be a sexual assault committed on a minor victim under the age of 15, punishable by 7 years in prison and a fine of €100,000 (since 1994, indecent assault no longer exists) .

To tan naked safely, make sure that your exterior is well protected from view. On your balcony or terrace, you can install a fence or a screen net. In our garden, beware of your higher neighbors and, if necessary, build a pergola or a small roof.
