(Montreal) Midfielder Mathieu Choinière will represent CF Montreal in the MLS All-Star Game.
The match will take place at Audi Field in Washington on July 19 and will pit MLS stars against English club Arsenal FC.
Choinière was one of two selections by commissioner Don Garber. “This is very well-deserved recognition for Mathieu, a player who always puts the team before his individual performances,” said CF Montreal head coach Hernán Losada. This is a first appointment for the 24-year-old midfielder, who has played 17 games this season, including 16 as a starter, and 1,446 minutes played.
Choinière has two goals and three assists in MLS this season. He also played in every game for CF Montreal during the team’s run to the Canadian Championship final.
Choinière has been part of the Montreal organization for more than 10 years, having joined the Academy in 2011. He was the first player to be part of the U13, U14, U16, U18 and U19 teams before joining the first team in MLS, July 17, 2018.
