(New York) Bruce Springsteen is taking an unplanned break and postponing his September shows, citing his doctors’ orders.

The rock legend announced on his website Wednesday that he is postponing shows for the rest of the month while he is treated for “peptic ulcer” symptoms.

The disease causes ulcers to form in the stomach or small intestine, which can lead to heartburn, nausea, and stomach pain.

The postponed shows include planned stops in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Washington. Concerts in Connecticut and Ohio will also take place at a later date.

“Here on E Street we are heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” he said on social media. We will be back to repeat these shows and more. »

Springsteen, known for his energetic three-hour gigs with the E Street Band, recently performed three nights of shows in his home state of New Jersey.

Springsteen and the E Street Band’s first tour in six years began in Tampa, Florida, in February.

Springsteen will celebrate his 74th birthday later this month.
