(Boucherville) Halifax Mooseheads goaltender Mathis Rousseau was named player of the week in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Tuesday.

In three games last week, the 19-year-old from Boisbriand maintained a 3-0-0-0 record, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage, all by obtaining a shutout.

Rousseau first stopped all 26 shots he faced to earn his sixth career shutout in the QMJHL, as the Mooseheads defeated the Cape Breton Eagles 2-0.

Then, two days later, Rousseau kept his team in the game and allowed the Mooseheads to erase a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Victoriaville Tigres 5-3. The Quebecer, a veteran of the Cecchini circuit, capped his dream week by signing a 3-1 victory against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada the next day.

Rousseau remains undefeated since returning from Arizona Coyotes training camp last month, posting a perfect 5-0-0-0 record. He also has a 1.20 GAA and a .956 save percentage.

He succeeds Eagles forward Cole Burbridge.
