Should you leave your food in the fridge during the holidays? For short stays, some French people prefer not to completely turn off their refrigerator to be able to leave some food products. Some products cannot stay in your refrigerator. You will be forced to throw them away before you leave. For example, dairy products that have already been opened must imperatively be given or cooked before your absence. Indeed, the latter could turn and can develop bacteria harmful to health. Vegetable preparations can be left in the freezer. Nevertheless, in addition to the type of food, the place assigned to them in the refrigerator is of great importance.

In a report dating from 2012, ANSES (National Food Safety Agency) gives recommendations in terms of storing food products in the refrigerator. Indeed, the agency explains that the layout and storage of food plays a key role in the proper functioning of the refrigerator. The recommendations are as follows:
