12.6 million households are preparing to receive the exceptional energy check set up by the government. This new boost, which aims to help the most precarious households to pay their energy bills or heating costs, is automatically sent by post to its beneficiaries.

According to the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, “it comes in addition to the ‘classic’ energy check already received in the spring of 2022 and the exceptional ‘fuel operation’ energy check”.

Distributed between December 12, 2022 and January 27, 2023, this exceptional energy voucher benefits 40% of French households. To find out if you are entitled to it, refer to your income declared in 2021 for the year 2020 as well as the composition of your household on January 1, 2021.

The sending of exceptional energy checks extends from December 12, 2022 to January 27, 2023. And for good reason: not all departments receive them at the same time. In our slideshow below, discover the details of the dates for sending this boost according to your place of residence. As the ministry’s website stipulates, “the time between sending the energy vouchers and receiving them at the beneficiary’s home is generally between 2 to 4 days”.

Furthermore, if you have chosen to allocate your energy check to your supplier via pre-allocation, you will not receive anything by post. You will simply be notified, around December 19, 2022, that you are indeed the beneficiary of the aid.
