Selected in the first list of the Renaudot Prize for his novel Ce que je sais de toi, Quebecer Éric Chacour found himself among the 10 titles in the second Femina selection on Tuesday.

The author, whose first novel this is, tells the story of Tarek, a doctor in Cairo in the 1980s who will be forced into exile. It was published in January in Quebec by Alto and it came third in the best-selling novels as part of the August 12, I’m buying a Quebec book movement. In France, it was published on August 24 by publisher Philippe Rey and has already won the Première Plume prize, which aims to highlight emerging authors.

Finalists will be revealed on October 24 and the winner will be announced on November 6.

Last year, it was Claudie Hunzinger who won over the all-female Femina jury with her novel Un chien à ma table, published by Grasset.
