(Boston) At the end of the salary arbitration process, Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman was awarded a one-year, $3.475 million contract.

The decision was issued on Tuesday, two days after Sunday’s hearing. The Bruins opted for a one-season deal over two.

Swayman, 24, is expected to share the Bruins’ goal duties with Linus Ullmark, who was one of three goaltenders nominated for the Vezina Trophy. Both men won the WilliamM. – Jennings awarded to the team with the lowest goals-against-average.

In 37 games in 2022-23, Swayman went 24-6-4 with a 2.27 GAA and .920 save percentage. He was selected in the fourth round by the Bruins in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Swayman is the second goalie to have resorted to salary arbitration this offseason. Ilya Samsonov of the Toronto Maple Leafs was first, securing a one-year, $3.55 million deal.

Trent Frederic was also to go to arbitration, but the two clans agreed a few hours before the hearing. The forward signed a two-year, $4.6 million pact.

Frederic, who was a restricted free agent, set career highs last season with 17 goals and 14 assists in 79 games. He was shut out of the scoresheet in five outings in the playoffs.

The 25-year-old American was in his third full NHL season.

The Bruins’ 2016 first-round pick, 29th overall, Frederic has 29 goals and 25 assists in 198 NHL games.
