This year, according to Forbes France, the vintage is “historic” because “the richest man in the world and the richest woman in the world are French”, weighing between them more than 270 billion euros. Unsurprisingly, it is the luxury and cosmetics sectors that are once again doing well, and allowing these billionaires to reach the top of the rankings, sometimes tied with other members of their family. We have to wait for 6th place in the ranking to see the arrival of a billionaire who has nothing to do with luxury or cosmetics, but who is still far from being unknown to the French.
This ranking erected by Forbes France also has two outgoing, “Francis Holder, president of bakeries / pastry shops Paul and winemaker Clément Fayat”. Others, if they are still present in this list, have fallen a few places: this is particularly the case of the boss of Free Xavier Niel and Patrick Drahi, at the head of SFR. On the health side, the general manager of Moderna Therapeutics Stéphane Bancel is still in the table, in 21st place.
