At the bottom of your piggy bank could be a real treasure. Indeed, you may have already heard of coins that are worth much more than the listed price. Among them, many two-euro coins would be worth several thousand euros. But how do you know if you have one too? Like the stamps that can be collected, the value of these coins depends on their rarity.

So the more unique your piece is, the more money it can earn you. For example, for the two euro coins, those minted in 2007 in France with the profile of Grace Kelly for the 25th anniversary of her death, can be sold between 600 and 1,000 euros. Another example: the François Mitterrand two-euro coins minted in 2016 are sold for around 20 euros.

The two euro coins are not the only ones you should bear interest in. Indeed, according to Telecino, Spanish television, a 1 cent coin could be worth up to 50,000 euros. This one would come from Germany and would have been struck in 2002. But, how to recognize it?

This is an edition illustrated by Rolf Lederbogen, German artist and professor at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. On the back of it you will find an engraved oak leaf and two acorns. It was made with a different type of steel than that used for the other parts. You can then distinguish it by its slightly different color. If you own it, how and where can you resell it?

First, you can have its authenticity checked with your bank. If you want to sell it, several online sites are available. In particular, there is a site specializing in currency called Numiscorner. Otherwise, you can sell it on eBay or Rakuten Shopping, its Japanese equivalent.
