Since its launch at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT has been the sporting pride of the brand with the star. It is therefore no coincidence to see her coaching the Formula 1 peloton in shared custody with Aston Martin. For 2024, the manufacturer has chosen to soften its temperament a bit by offering it with all-wheel drive and increasing its footprint to accommodate two more seats.

This second-generation AMG GT therefore follows in the footsteps of the SL unveiled in 2021. Despite the “four-cylinder” shift of some AMG products, its twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 remains, producing 469 or 577 hp depending on the chosen livery. A nine-speed automatic transmission harnesses this power in concert with all-wheel drive that favors the rear axle.

The coupé, which adopts a very elegant stylistic posture similar to that of its predecessor, also grows in the transition with an increased wheelbase of approximately 80 mm and an increased length of 171 mm to offer two rear seats which are certainly cramped.

It’s all topped off with a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension and steerable rear wheels for agility. The Mercedes-AMG will go on sale in Canada in the second quarter of 2024.
