TV presenter Sophie Darel celebrates her 79th birthday on July 1, 2023. The star was married to journalist and presenter Bernard Golay before finding love in the arms of writer Jack Anaclet.
Against all odds, Sophie Darel also had a passionate affair with a famous singer from the 1970s, none other than Mike Brant. “The more time passes, the more I want him,” she explained in 2007 in the columns of France Dimanche and added: “But, before abandoning myself to him, I take malicious pleasure in doing it. waiting and making me wait (…) We both knew it. It was a unique experience in both senses of the word: that of the exception and that of the unique: only once. Not twice!” . A hot night for which she seems to have kept a good memory.
Later, in November 2016, Sophie Darel once again spoke of her torrid affair with the singer on the set of Non Stop People. “I often say it when someone talks to me about this, because it marks women a lot. Mike Brant was magnificent”, she had declared before qualifying: “I was not especially in love with him. He made me the court for a very, very long time so I took it from afar. One day, I said to myself “you really have to be stupid” and then it happened. It didn’t mark me”.
With Mike Brant, “it didn’t last very long. It was what we called an adventure. On the other hand, it was someone very funny who made jokes to me, who called my parents in disguising his voice. I was so disturbed when you know what happened after that it was so tragic and far from him. It marked me at this level”.
It must be said that the disappearance of the artist was a shock for all his fans. On April 25, 1975, Mike Brant fell from the sixth floor of a building located in the 16ᵉ arrondissement of Paris. He will die in the ambulance transporting him to the Ambroise-Paré hospital.
