Lynx Air announced on Friday the departure of its president and chief executive, Merren McArthur, for personal reasons.

Merren McArthur, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lynx Air, joined the airline in June 2021 and led it to the launch of its first flight in April 2022. Ms McArthur will continue in her role until the end of September and will therefore participate in the selection of a new CEO.

Originally from Australia, the resigning CEO wishes to return to the country to join her family. In an interview with La Presse last May on the occasion of the launch of the discount airline’s activities in Montreal, Merren McArthur announced that the company intended to increase from 7 to 10 aircraft by the end of the year with targets to have a fleet of 46 aircraft by 2028.

Lynx counts among its shareholders the private investment firm Indigo Partners LLC of businessman Bill Franke.
