(San Jose) The San Jose Sharks acquired defenseman Calen Addison from the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday in exchange for Adam Raska and a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.

Addison, 23, has five assists in 12 games this season with the Wild, after finishing third in scoring among rookie defensemen last year with 29 points (3- 26) in 62 meetings.

“Calen is a talented young defenseman who has good vision and a good first pass,” said Sharks general manager Mike Grier. He excels on the power play, and we can’t wait for him to join our group. »

Addison was acquired by the Wild in a trade that sent forward Jason Zucker to the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 10, 2020.

Raska, a 22-year-old forward, has no points in eight career NHL games. He’s also been shut out of the scoresheet in seven games in the American Hockey League this season, after recording 11 points (4-7) in 54 games in 2022-23.

Separately, the Wild said it acquired defenseman Zach Bogosian from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Bogosian scored 57 goals and 156 assists in 787 regular-season NHL games with the Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs and Lightning. The 33-year-old veteran, who was the Thrashers’ third overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, also has nine assists in 54 career playoff games.

The Wild (5-5-2) will visit the New York Rangers on Thursday night.

The Sharks (1-10-1) will face the Edmonton Oilers at home on Thursday night.
