(Los Angeles) American gymnast Simone Biles, returning to competition after a two-year hiatus, said Thursday that the 2024 Paris Olympics are her main goal and that she “would love” to win more medals there Golden.

“This is the path I would like to follow,” Biles, 26, said in an interview with NBC television, confirming for the first time since his return his goal of participating in the Games.

Biles, who has already won four gold medals at the Olympics, showed that she had returned to the highest level during two competitions in August, twice landing a Yurchenko double pike in which she is the specialist.

She also won a record 8th all-around title at the end of August and could add to her haul of 19 titles at the Worlds which will begin in Antwerp, Belgium on September 30.

However, she had indicated, until Thursday, that she intended to remain discreet about her objectives in order to maintain the balance between sport and her private life.

She withdrew from most of the 2021 Olympics events in Japan for mental health and safety reasons. The gymnast explained that she had experienced an attack of “twisties”, dangerous loss of bearings in space exposing athletes to the risk of injury when they land.

“I think I need to take care of myself a little more and listen to my body,” she emphasized. “Making sure I make time for the important things in my life rather than doing business as usual and always pushing and making time after.”

“Now I decided to go to therapy, make sure everything works so that I do the best I can in the gym and also be a good wife, a good daughter a good friend and all the good things,” claimed Simone Biles who married an American football player in April.
