Transat A. T. sees its chief financial officer packing up to play the same role at the retailer Dollarama. In full recovery after the shocks of the pandemic, the Quebec leisure travel specialist must therefore find a new finance manager.

Patrick Bui will leave his position on December 15, the parent company of Air Transat announced on Friday. He will therefore be in office when the company turns the page on its financial year, which ends on October 31.

In two years at Transat, Mr. Bui contributed to the recovery of the Quebec company, which had suffered greatly from the health crisis when its planes had been temporarily grounded on two occasions.

His departure comes at a time when Transat returns to quarterly profits. However, its debt remains high, at around 1.5 billion. A process to find the person who will succeed Mr. Bui has been put in place at the leisure travel specialist.

Mr. Bui’s first day of work at Dollarama is scheduled for December 18.
