After a week without a game, CF Montreal will return to the collar on Saturday evening on the Canadian west coast to face the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Montreal XI will try to push their winning streak to two and thus pocket a first point on the road this season as the Whitecaps will want to clinch their first victory of the campaign.

For the occasion, there are still several changes to be expected in the Montreal workforce.

The CFM will be able to count on the return of its captain, Samuel Piette, to the training. The Repentigny bulldog has missed his team’s last two games due to an adductor injury. Thanks to the restoration of supporting centre-backs – and the break coming with the international break – Piette should return to his favorite position in midfield.

The Bleu-blanc-noir could also count on the return of right-back Aaron Herrera. The Real Salt Lake alum also missed the match against the Philadelphia Union. Kamal Miller, who is bothered by a few physical glitches, is also expected to be in the starting lineup.

However, the Montreal club will have to do without the services of Lassi Lappalainen. He has started all four of the club’s duels this season. The Finn started his last duel as a right-back, so Herrera’s return to the lineup will be timely. Mathieu Choinière should therefore keep his left-back position after his strong performance against the Union.

The presence of Romell Quioto, the club’s top scorer in the last three seasons and author of a double against the Union, in the starting lineup is uncertain. After playing 68 minutes on Tuesday against Canada in the national team, the Honduran only found his teammates on Thursday.

“I hope he will be there,” CFM head coach Hernán Losada said during a press scrum on Wednesday. “[…] But we will see on Saturday. »

The game against the Vancouver Whitecaps will be broadcast via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV starting at 10:30 p.m. For CF Montreal’s second straight game, Frédéric Lord and Vincent Destouches will be hosting. The match will also be broadcast on BPM Sports.
