(Philadelphia) The Philadelphia Eagles signed veteran wide receiver Julio Jones on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old hasn’t played since last season, his only one with Tampa Bay.

Jones then had 24 catches for 299 yards with the Buccaneers.

The pass catcher has been slowed by injuries and hasn’t played more than 10 games in a season since 2019.

Reigning National champions, the Eagles needed a third option in addition to A. J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, following Quez Watkins’ rear thigh injury.

The Eagles (5-1) will host the Miami Dolphins (5-1) on Sunday evening.

Playing for Atlanta from 2011-2019, Jones set Falcons records with 848 catches and 12,896 yards. Author of 60 touchdowns, he is second in the club’s history in this regard.

Beginning in 2014, Jones delivered six straight seasons with over 1,300 receiving yards. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2015 and 2018.

Jones played in the 2017 Super Bowl, where the New England Patriots defeated the Falcons 34-28. He had 87 catch yards in this game.
