(Montreal) Six young Ukrainian refugees who took part in the famous annual Quebec City pee-wee hockey tournament earlier this year are returning to the nation’s capital, but this time to attend school.
One of the tournament organizers, who managed to bring the Ukrainian hockey team to Quebec last winter, says six of the players fell in love with the city, but obviously had to return home after the tournament.
Quebec City-area businessman Sean Bérubé says the six players have since obtained visas to take lessons and play hockey at St. Patrick’s English-language high school.
The six players were part of a Ukrainian team of 11- and 12-year-old refugees who were showered with attention during the Tournoi international de hockey pee-wee de Québec.
The young Ukrainian refugees played to sold-out crowds at the Videotron Center and took part in numerous activities and events in Quebec.
Mr. Bérubé specifies that one of the six players is coming to Quebec with his mother, while the other five will join the host families who had hosted them during the tournament.
