(Paris) Christophe Galtier’s successor as Paris Saint-Germain coach will be announced and presented “next week”, a source close to the negotiations told AFP on Tuesday.

“The new coach is expected to be in place next week with final details ironed out,” the source explained.

Former Spain coach Luis Enrique is the big favorite to replace the French technician.

A source close to the club told AFP that the presentation of the new coach would not take place this week, contrary to what several media had indicated.

At the beginning of June, at the end of a complicated season at the sporting and extra-sporting level despite obtaining a record 11th league title, Christophe Galtier was informed by his management and by football adviser Luis Campos that he would not complete his second year of contract when he was engaged until June 30, 2024 with PSG.

This is the first time under the Qatari era that a coach has stayed on the Paris bench for a single year. Recruited last summer by Luis Campos, with whom he had already worked in Lille, Galtier pays the second half of his team’s season, often without desire on the ground.

Negotiations on the terms of his departure are still ongoing. Contacted Tuesday by AFP, Christophe Galtier’s lawyer had not responded.
