(Indianapolis) The Indianapolis Colts confirmed Monday that they are aware of an NFL sports betting investigation involving one of the team’s players, but declined to offer further details.

The confirmation came shortly after media reports emerged that a player may have violated the Tour’s sports betting policy. The player’s name has not been publicly released.

The Colts held drills at team facilities this week, but no media availability is scheduled until Wednesday.

In April, the NFL suspended five players, including four from the Detroit Lions, for sports betting violations. The Lions released three of those players — receivers Quintez Cephus and Stanley Berryhill and safety C.J. Moore. Cephus and Moore were suspended indefinitely for betting on NFL games, while Berryhill and wide receiver Jameson Williams were each suspended for six games for betting unrelated to the NFL. Williams, who the Lions drafted 12th overall in 2022, is still with the Lions.

Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney was also suspended indefinitely by the NFL in April for betting on league games.
