(Montreal) French singer Yves Duteil will be named a Knight of the National Order of Quebec on Wednesday.

An insignia ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon with Prime Minister François Legault at the Cercle de la garrison in Quebec City.

The singer-songwriter, who has a 50-year career, is currently on tour in Quebec. He will perform in the coming days in Sherbrooke, Victoriaville and Sainte-Thérèse.

Yves Duteil has composed several hit songs, including Take a Child and of course La langue de chez nous, a song he dedicated to Félix Leclerc and in which he talks about Quebec.

Over time, Duteil has often toured Quebec and he has always had a special bond with Quebecers. He had also sung at the funeral of former minister and philanthropist Paul Gérin-Lajoie.
