Singer-songwriter Marie-Jo Thério will be the “smuggler” artist for the 41st edition of the Petite-Vallée Song Festival, in Gaspésie. Karkwa and Galaxie are also part of the program, partially revealed on Tuesday.

“Marie-Jo Thério is an essential creator, a great artistic personality who is one of those women who paved the way for a new generation of singer-songwriters. The impact it had on French-speaking song must be underlined,” argued Alan Côté, general and artistic director of the Festival en song, in a press release released on Tuesday.

Through its programming, the festival will pay tribute to the artist’s musical universe. In addition to Marie-Jo Thério, Karkwa and Galaxie will be back next summer in the Gaspé village, where Sara Dufour, Chloé Sainte-Marie and Ludovick Bourgeois will also perform.

The full unveiling of the program is planned for next spring. The 41st edition of the Petite-Vallée Song Festival will be held from July 25 to August 3.
