The singer, who passed away suddenly at 54, died “of bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed after bariatric surgery several years ago,” health officials wrote. of Los Angeles in a statement.

“The cause of death is natural,” the experts added.
A “therapeutic” and non-hazardous level of an opiate, oxycodone, was also found in his blood along with traces of another painkiller and a substance to treat depression, but “did not help upon his death,” according to US media.
The star, who had a history of addiction to opiates and painkillers, was discovered unconscious on January 12 at her home by her ex-husband, Danny Keough.
