Price inflation continued to slow in Canada in March and the Consumer Price Index fell below 5% to 4.3%.

This is the smallest price increase since August 2021. This expected slowdown in the overall price index is also reflected in food prices, which rose at a slower pace of 9.7% in March. In Quebec, the inflation rate fell from 5.6% in February to 4.7 in March.
