Summer is gradually setting in across France. Hot air then begins to invade the rooms of your home. But how do you keep fresh air in your home without air conditioning? Discover in our slideshow below seven tips to help you achieve this.

In addition to taking up space, air conditioning consumes a lot of energy. Indeed, this device would represent 20% of the energy consumption of a building, according to information collected by franceinfo. It is for this reason that the government has imposed its use only when the outside temperature exceeds twenty-six degrees. As part of Act II of the energy sobriety plan, businesses were also asked to close their doors when the air conditioning is on. But other brands have found an alternative to use it.

The Bon Marché brand in Paris has found another way to air-condition its entire 80,000 m2 building. Indeed, the water used to supply the device comes from the Seine. It is then cooled before being distributed in the building. “It is refrigerated in a central at 7° C, and the building is supplied from the collective network”, explained Christophe Ladaurade, customer manager – Paris freshness, to franceinfo. But it is not the only building that applies this method.

In Paris, more than 800 buildings would have cold water delivered for reuse. Indeed, among the most loyal customers, we find museums, ministries or shopping centers. “Removing the equipment from the roof reduces the urban heat island which is caused by the release of calories into the ambient air”, concludes Christophe Ladaurade. But for your home, it is more complicated to apply this method. Discover in our slideshow below the tips for cooling your rooms without air conditioning.
