(Guadalajara) Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and her New Zealand partner Erin Routliffe reached the women’s doubles final at the Guadalajara Open on Friday in Mexico, thanks to a 6-2, 7-6 (4) victory over duo formed by the Italian Jasmine Paolini and the Egyptian Mayar Sherif.

Dabrowski and Routliffe, who was born in Auckland but grew up in Ontario, extended their winning streak to nine games. They have therefore maintained the pace since their victory in the women’s doubles at the United States Open.

Dabrowski and Routliffe were broken only once and they won 66.7% of the points on their serve against Paolini and Sherif.

Both players will now be able to add a doubles title on the WTA 1000 circuit to their Grand Slam victory when they meet the winners of the duel between the Austrian Storm Hunter and the Belgian Elise Mertens, top seeds , as well as the American duo composed of Caroline Dolehide and Asia Muhammad.
