A few months after announcing price reductions for its Mustang Mach-E, Ford comes back by subtracting thousands of dollars from the prices of the various versions of its electric pickup truck F-150 Lightning.

The blue oval brand is resolutely targeting companies and entrepreneurs with this pricing strategy by reducing the invoice for the Pro livery intended for them by $15,000 from a starting price of $59,000 before the application of the transport and preparation. The XLT versions equipped with the two types of batteries of 98 kWh or 131 kWh see the bill reduced by $10,000 to allow an entry price of $69,000. Their estimated range is 386 km and 515 km respectively.

Finally, the F-150 Lightning Lariat with the lower capacity battery drops in price by $10,000, while the extended range Lariat variant sees its bill drop by $9,000. The plush Platinum livery has a more modest decrease of $6,000 for a starting price of $115,000.

These adjustments are attributable, according to Ford, to lower raw material costs as well as improvements in the model’s assembly process. The manufacturer is also aiming for a production rate of 150,000 copies annually from next October. It is claimed that delivery times will also be reduced from this month. Ford wants to regain the ground lost due to the production shutdown of the model in February which stretched over a few weeks due to battery problems.

With the recently announced adoption of Tesla’s NACS port, Ford also hopes to be able to decrease the reservations of its potential customer base by giving its pickup truck access to an expanded network of charging stations throughout North America.
