(Cincinnati) Joe Burrow overcame right calf trouble to pass for 259 yards Monday as the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Los Angeles Rams 19-16.

When Joe Mixon had a 14-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, the Bengals took the lead for the first time all season.

Logan Wilson intercepted two passes from Matthew Stafford, who also had six sacks.

Stafford completed a one-yard touchdown pass to Tutu Atwell with about a minute on the clock in the final quarter.

The convert brought the Rams within three points, but the short kick was unsuccessful, the ball being grabbed by Mitchell Wilcox of the Bengals (1-2).

Burrow seemed to get better as the match went on.

The injury occurred early in camp and Burrow aggravated it last week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Burrow began training again on Thursday, on a limited basis.

On Saturday, the team announced that he was a questionable case ahead of the game against the Rams.

He completed passes to nine different players including Ja’Marr Chase, who had 12 catches, for 141 yards.

Chase notably made a 43-yard catch in the third quarter. The climb led to Evan McPherson’s third of four field goals.

Stafford had 269 passing yards for the Rams (1-2).

Next Sunday, the Rams will play in Indianapolis, while the Bengals will visit Tennessee.
