A musical icon. In the 1970s, singer Fabienne Thibeault led her career brilliantly in Quebec when she was noticed, one evening after her appearance at Chant’August in 1975, by two stars. “I turn around and I see producer Gilles Talbot and Luc Plamondon coming towards me,” she said for the daily La Presse in 2019.

This meeting will change the life of Fabienne Thibeault. She is offered to join the Starmania troupe to play the role of Marie-Jeanne, the robot waitress of rock opera. The artist plays alongside Daniel Balavoine, France Gall, as well as Quebec stars Claude Dubois, Diane Dufresne and Nanette Workman. After recording the songs and creating the show, the great adventure began in France in 1979.

With her powerful and moving voice, Fabienne Thibeault is one of the stars of the troupe. Buoyed by this popularity, Fabienne Thibeault continued her career in France after the Starmania episode. The artist recorded a series of albums in the 1980s and collaborated with several artists throughout his career. At the same time, the singer is also committed to the agricultural world. “In the 90s, I toured a lot in France. I started to read about the issues and difficulties of the agricultural community”, explains the artist decorated with the medial Agricultural Merit in 2006.

Between her many projects, Fabienne Thibeault has never abandoned the music scene. On Monday June 12, Fabienne Thibeault was honored at the fifth evening of the Musical Comedy Trophies which took place at the Casino de Paris. During this ceremony which Planet attended, the singer appeared on stage during a tribute to Starmania before being joined by Alex Montembault, male revelation who embodies the queer role of Marie-Jeanne in 2023.
