(Minneapolis) Édouard Julien of the Twins hit four singles in Minnesota’s 8-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.

It’s the first game of four hits in the majors for Quebec’s second goal in 71 games.

Julien had three hits on five occasions.

One of Julien’s singles earned two runs in the second. The 24-year-old from Quebec City crossed home plate in the ninth, following a home run by Jorge Polanco.

The Twins led 4-0 but Detroit scored eight straight. The last came from a sacrifice fly by Riley Greene in the ninth.

Max Kepler hit a solo homer after Polanco’s slap in the ninth, but the Twins weren’t going to get any closer.

Greene, Spencer Torkelson (twice) and Kerry Carpenter hit the long ball for the Tigers side.

Tyler Holton (2-2) was the second of five relievers used by the visitors. Griffin Jax (5-7) worked in the seventh inning.

Section leaders, the Twins will host the Pittsburgh Pirates from Friday to Sunday.
