(Madrid) World No.1 Iga Swiatek quietly qualified for the round of 16 at the WTA 1000 in Madrid by beating American Bernarda Pera (32nd) 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hour 15 minutes on Sunday.

The young Pole had won by the same score for her entry into the running against the Austrian Julia Grabher (92nd) earlier in the week.

Swiatek will face the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (17th) or the Chinese Qinwen Zheng (24th) for a place in the quarterfinals in the “Caja magica”.
