(New York) The king of hip-hop is working on a new album, and it could be playing on fans’ headphones sooner rather than later.

Outside a packed Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday night, rapper Drake confirmed that his next album, For All the Dogs, will be released “in the next few weeks.”

The 36-year-old superstar, known for having a habit of releasing new songs without announcing it in advance, revealed the existence of the new album during an intimate concert at New York’s Apollo Theater in January.

The five-time Grammy winner, pictured wearing a Doberman dog mask earlier today, also announced on Thursday that he will be releasing a new freestyle on Friday.

Although details on the new album are scarce, Drake confirmed a collaboration with Nick Minaj during a show in Detroit earlier this month.

For All the Dogs will mark their first project since their joint album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, released last November.

His last solo release, the EP Honestly, Nevermind, dates back to 2022.

Drake is currently conducting his 56-date It Was All a Blur Tour across North America.

After two concerts at the Bell Center last week, the Torontonian took the road to Brooklyn to present four sold-out concerts at the Barclays Center. His tour will then take him to New York’s Madison Square Garden for three nights starting Sunday.

In Canada, two concerts are planned in Vancouver on August 28 and 29, while two more will take place in Toronto on October 5 and 7.

This is Drake’s first headlining outing since the Aubrey Tour
