(Boston) The Boston Bruins have given forward Alex Chiasson a pro tryout ahead of their camp.

Chiasson, 32, appeared in 20 games for the Detroit Red Wings last season, scoring six goals and three assists. He also played 29 games with the American Hockey League Red Wings’ Grand Rapids Griffins, contributing nine goals and 11 assists.

A second-round pick, 38th overall, of the Dallas Stars in 2009, Chiasson played 651 NHL games with the Stars, Ottawa Senators, Calgary Flames, Washington Capitals, Edmonton Oilers, the Vancouver Canucks and the Red Wings. He had 120 goals and 113 assists.

Chiasson, a Montreal native, had his best season in 2018-19 with the Oilers, when he scored 22 goals and had 38 points in 73 games.

He helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup in 2018.
