(Berea) Kareem Hunt is back with the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns, who are in desperate need of a quality running back after losing the services of Nick Chubb for the season, have therefore agreed to a new deal with Kareem Hunt. The latter was still available on the free agent market, and he should immediately come and lend a hand to the Browns offense.

The team agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with Hunt, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. Hunt’s pact includes numerous performance bonuses, said the person, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team has yet to confirm the information.

Hunt, who is originally from the Cleveland area, spent four seasons with the Browns before the team opted not to extend him a new offer following last campaign. His departure ended a tumultuous 2022 season, during which he publicly demanded a contract extension, as well as a trade.

Since he’s already familiar with the Browns’ (1-1) system, the 28-year-old will likely be available for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans (1-1).

Hunt will assist Jerome Ford, who came in as a reinforcement in Monday’s game after Chubb’s injury and who amassed 106 yards on the ground. Hunt visited many teams during the summer, but remained in the Cleveland area and was always available.

So Hunt visited the Browns on Tuesday, and the two sides quickly found common ground.
