(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays acquired right-handed reliever Jordan Hicks from the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

In return, they gave up hopes Adam Kloffenstein and Sem Robberse, two right-handed pitchers.

To make way for Hicks on their 40-man roster, the Blue Jays assigned right-handed reliever Mitch White to the assignment.

The transaction is the second between the two teams in just over a week. The Blue Jays secured reliever Genesis Cabrera on July 21.

Hicks (1-6) is averaging 3.67 ERA this season, with eight saves and 59 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings.

White (0-1) is a 7.11 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings.
