(Paris) The Dane Holger Rune, beaten in the final in Monte-Carlo by the Russian Andrey Rublev (6th), rose to 7th place in the ATP on Monday, his best ranking, while the Norwegian Casper Ruud hunts the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas from the podium.

Serbian Novak Djokovic remains on top of the world, ahead of Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

Ruud, who had won his first tournament of the season in Estoril the previous week, stopped in 8th in Monte-Carlo, but he is approaching 2nd place in the world, which he already occupied briefly in September. Finalist at Roland-Garros and the United States Open in 2022, he had already doubled Daniil Medvedev (4th) a week ago, crowned in Miami before taking a break.

Rublev, who won his first Masters 1000 at 25 after two unfortunate finals, is now flirting with 5th place, which he already reached in 2021.

This is occupied by Tsitsipas, well framed between two Russians.

Holger Rune, who will celebrate his 20th birthday on April 29, has moved up two places, while the Canadian FĂ©lix Auger-Aliassime (9th) is doing the opposite.

In the second half of the Top 20, the slip of the Pole Hubert Hurkacz (15th, -2), notably benefited the Spaniard Rafael Nadal (14th), who regained a place, without playing.

The Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who released Djokovic in Monte-Carlo before stalling against his compatriot Jannik Sinner (8th) in the quarter, returns to the Top 20, in last place.
